About The Tri-Counties Libertarian Party
No man's life, liberty or property are safe while the legislature is in session. - Mark Twain Libertarianism is a logically consistent approach to politics based on the moral principle of self-ownership. This simply means that each and every individual has the right to control what they do to their bodies, what actions they take, what they choose to say and how they maintain their personal property. This is not the government's job to do - their proper role, instead, is to help individuals defend themselves from unlawful force and fraud.
Serving as the Libertarian presence in three south central Illinois counties (Montgomery, Christian and Shelby), we are dedicated to do everything we possibly can do for our communities to make things better - petitioning, peaceful and civilized protesting, sponsoring food drives, launching candidate campaigns or doing volunteer work. We are here to spread the message of liberty, as well as proving that individual liberty can exist in a modernized society. We do not believe that anyone's rights are negotiable and will resist any legislation that takes your belongings & rights and giving them to the political elite or the criminal underground. Your rights are yours alone and we're here to help you protect them. Tri-Counties Libertarian Party emerged as a developmental chapter with the Libertarian Party of Illinois in 2015 and meets on the first Saturday of each month at Spring Garden Restaurant in Pana, unless specified otherwise.
